NetherRealm Studios has unveiled a massive expansion for Mortal Kombat 1 titled Khaos Reigns. This DLC will introduce a new cinematic story campaign that pits Liu Kang and his allies against a terrifying threat from an alternate timeline led by the chaotic Titan, Havik.
Alongside the story expansion, Mortal Kombat 1 is receiving Kombat Pack 2, which will introduce a fresh wave of fighters to the roster. Returning fan favorites like Noob Saibot, Cyrax, and Sektor will be making their comeback with revamped backstories fitting the game’s reimagined universe. Notably, Sektor and Cyrax will be reimagined as female characters.
Kombat Pack 2 also promises to deliver three iconic guest fighters: the menacing Ghostface from the Scream franchise, the shape-shifting T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (featuring the likeness and voice of Robert Patrick), and the legendary Conan the Barbarian (featuring the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger).
To top it all off, Mortal Kombat 1 will be introducing the beloved Animalities as a free update for all players. This classic feature allows characters to transform into their spirit animals for devastating finishing moves.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is set to launch digitally on September 24th for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. Noob Saibot, Cyrax, and Sektor will be available at launch, while Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian will arrive at a later date, with early access granted to Khaos Reigns owners.
